Getting to Know Your Trainer!
In the coming months, I will be featuring a Member Spotlight here on the blog and in my newsletter, so you can get to know my awesome clients. Today I thought I'd break the ice and go first! Soooo, here goes....
1. How long have you been with OTGF? I started On The Geaux Fitness in 2013.
2. What's your favorite thing about boot camp? Getting to meet and work with strong (body & mind) women. We all have our own personal battes we're dealing with, but by coming together as a little community and forming a bond, I feel it gives us a little more strength to push forward and get through it.
3. How long have you been consistently working out? I've been working out for 25 years! I've gotten burned out more than once along the way, but being away from a normal exercise routine only makes me feel worse, so I won't stay away for very long. Sometimes you just have to listen to your body and rest it!
4. Do you have a favorite quote? To dream anything that you want to dream, that is the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do, that is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself, to test your limits, that is the courage to succeed.- Bernard Edmonds
5. What is something that not many people know about you? I was asked to be in a Sammy Hagar music video while at his bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We filmed the entire scene, more than once, only to get home to see the video and notice the entire scene had been cut! LOL
6. What inspires you when you're not in the mood to exercise? Knowing that I will get in my zone soon after walking in to the gym and kill my workout. Then knowing how great I'll feel afterwards.
7. What is your biggest achievement or what are you most proud of since starting your business? Working hard to make my business a success and hearing that I've changed a client's life by doing what I love
8. What's the silliest thing you've done? I'm going to see if anyone reading this can name it! If you have a silly memory of me, I'd love for you to send it to me here!
9. Do you have a favorite boot camp workout? Too many to name.
10. A few of my favorite things are? My dog, Scout, family & friends, bread pudding, cooking and working out.
11. What is one piece of advice you would give a newcomer? You are stronger than you think you are; believe in yourself!
12. What is your favorite exercise? That would be a toss up between pushups and burpees. Yes, I did just say that! My least favorite: That's a tough one because I really don't have one that I never want to do. Pulsing lunges could possibly qualify, but only because of the burn. On occassion my knees hurt when I jump, so on those days, I'd say jumping jacks.
That's a little about me. I hope that this blog will serve the purpose of showing you who I am and what is important to me. My mission is to help people learn how to live a healthy lifestyle by making better choices and moving more. Hopefully they will have a little fun in the process!
