The 4th Annual Parkinson's Conference

On Saturday, July 18, 2015, Pennington Biomedical Research Center and The Neuromedical Center hosted it's 4th Annual Parkinson's Conference in Baton Rouge. Some of the topics included gait and voice training, newly approved FDA treatments and neuroimaging progression markers. Speakers included Drs. Gerald Calegan and Glenn Kidder from the Neuromedical Center, Dr. Terina Martinez from the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Dr. David Vaillancourt from the Center for Exercise Science University of Florida, Rachel Pope and Lisa Zeppuhar from the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. I had the opportunity to share my fitness program, Rock Steady Boxing, which is designed specifically for those living with Parkinson's disease. Two of those people happen to be my mom and dad, so the fight against PD is a special one to me!
